High School Band Boosters
General Meeting – June 23, 2011
I. Call to Order: The meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm by President Jerry Crites.
II. Approval of Minutes – The minutes of the last meeting (May 24, 2011) were read and approved by attendees.
III. Financial Report –
Band Boosters checking account has a balance of $1,254.38. Resolution for checking account was signed by Jerry Crites, Cheryl Young and Michael Shickle.
IV. Director’s Report
2011 – 2012 is a “trip year.” (See New Business)
Order to be placed for Poly China Silk for color guard flags at a cost of around $75. Mr Hamrick is looking into new shoes, Dinkle brand to replace existing shoes as needed, the cost will be around $25.

A. Summer Band – Camp fees will be increased to $250 plus instrument rental on school owned instrument at $25. Families with more than one student in band will receive a $100 reduction for each additional student in camp fees. Fee for percussion and color guard is $275. Payments for band camp came be made in installments if you wish by entering students name in the memo section. Send payments to: HHSBB P.O. Box 203, Hedgesville, WV 25427 Band attendance is MANDATORY during and after Band Camp. For absences over the summer (before band camp): send in a note indicating the days that the student will not be present and a brief reason. Band camp packet will be sent out next week. Pool party will be on the last day of camp 12th August at 7-9pm at Lambert pool following cover dish dinner at the school.
B. Yard sell-bake sell has been approved to be held on July 9th at the HHS parking lot. Donations of baked goods should arrive early Saturday morning the 9th. Yard sell items can be brought to the band room the week before or contact Jerry Crites if you have items that need picked up. Space rentals are available for $15 each space.
C. Band Trip – The band will travel to either
Philadelphia or
Boston over Spring Break. Mr. Hamrick will meet with the school board to see which trip will be permitted. Band Students will be able to fund raise in order to pay for the trip.
Philadelphia will cost approx. $465 and
Boston $575. The price pays for transportation, breakfasts, admission tickets, hotel and one meal for three night’s stay.
D. The Band Boosters meeting day has been change from Tuesdays to Thursdays beginning in June. We will meet at 7:00 pm on the fourth Thursday of each month, exception is for July when we will meet on Tuesday due to Mr. Hamrick being out of town on that Thursday.
